Parish Life

Parish Life is that vital part of every Church that builds the feeling of family in a parish. Just like every person in a family has a special place and a special role to play – so does everyone in a ‘parish family’.

At The Ascension the Parish Life Committee works hard to ensure that parishioners feel that sense of belonging. Whether greeting a new comer or re-engaging a regular parishioner; or maybe in visiting seniors or shut ins. We also recognize and support our youth in many ways.

Parish Life is a continued work in progress for our Committee members. We initiated our "Come & See Flyer" which is available for you as a quick synopsis on our Church.  We also held our first “Back to Church Service" in September 2008 & this will become an annual event. 

Some other stewardships are as follows:-
Christmas Cookie Gift Baskets & Easter Plants for our seniors; Senior Luncheons; Pastoral Visiting; Fundraising Suppers; Hunger Meals & Potluck Suppers; Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper; Coffee House & 'your' Talent Time with our very own band the Electric Kazoo; Brown Paper Bag Auction.  In general many fun activities & Church functions appealing to all ages in order to reach out & support our community & others where needed.
